Chevy blazer won't stay running

I went to start my 2004 Chevy blazer and it seemed
like the battery was dead got a jump and it started
but won't stay running

will it idle if you give it a little gas holding the paddle down a little ? Check the batt. make sure it's good , scan for codes even if the light ain't on
