Dealership is not honoring listed promotion for prepaid gift card upon purchase, are they violating the contract?

Asked by Sep 20, 2017 at 11:37 AM

Question type: General

While finalizing the purchase I asked the salesman
about the promotional $300 prepaid gift card and
presented my promotion code. He told me that
they don't actually do that. He knows it's advertised
but they don't really do it. It was a really shady
answer. I'd like to know if they're legally bound to
fufill the offer or request that it be removed from
the website for false advertising.

Not legally bound, unless you signed something that you will receive it.

So there's no issue / concern with false advertising on the website?

This is a public forum, so this is my opinion. Dealers always have a disclaimer on their ads for listing typo's and other info. Some are more honest than others, it's just the nature of the game. Finding the honest ones is key, that's why you want to read reviews of the sellers/dealers as well as the price of the vehicle. So how would you suggest someone monitor this? Remember this is a listing site and is free......But read this for more info.....
