Dealership is not honoring listed promotion for prepaid gift card upon purchase, are they violating the contract?

While finalizing the purchase I asked the salesman
about the promotional $300 prepaid gift card and
presented my promotion code. He told me that
they don't actually do that. He knows it's advertised
but they don't really do it. It was a really shady
answer. I'd like to know if they're legally bound to
fufill the offer or request that it be removed from
the website for false advertising.
