I have a 83 cutlass

I have a 83 cutlass 3.8 it sounds like it wants to
turn on but wont. After i take the key out i hear
clicking. Coming from the driver side next to the
engine. It keeps going for about 45 secounds after
i remove the key. I also have a connection with 2
green wires that i cant seem to find where it is that
it connects to. Does anyone have any ideas as too
where that connection goes and what is that
clicking sound. That keeps going after i remove the
key.

Tom what do you mean when say if the ignition wires are cut?

The initial timing was off. I fixed it thanks for your help. I must have moved the crank while changing the gead gaskets
