Question type: General

While driving down the interstate at 70 miles per
hour. My jeep grand Cherokee 2000 just completely
shut down. There was an unusual noise like an
engine alert yet all gagged read normal. I pulled
over off the road as best I could bc the sterring
whell would not hardly turn. I was scared to death.
turned everything off, raido, air everything and
cranked it back up. It fired up and I was rolling
again. This also happened to my husband the other
day while he was in town and again this morning
with me on my way to work I turned a corner and it
complete shut down again. We have already put a
new computer in it. Any ideas please help this is

Do you have a lot of keys on your key ring? It could be the same issues that GM was having. If it happens again simply put the vehicle in neutral (carful not to hit reverse) and start the engine as normal. this will save you valuable seconds without power to your steering. Next, Drive it to the dealer before they sell out to China! Seriously, take it to your local Auto Zone, Advance Auto, or where ever you shop and have them check for an engine fault code. But it may take the dealer to tell what is wrong.

Fuel filter changed recently?

Fuel pump or crank sensor.

Check engine light on? Get codes as another user suggested
