How to check transmission fluid on my 2001 Chevy malibu

There is no dipstick. You need to get under the car and locate the transmission housing. on the SIDE of the housing is an 11mm bolt (about 3" up from the bottom of the drip pan). This bolt is the level-check plug. remove the plug - if the fluid level is full, fluid should dribble out the hole. The A/T FILL spout is a red plastic cap on the other side of the housing on top.
