Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Hello, I'm a 17 year old kid buying his first car and needed some advice. I'm
wanting a car with minimum maintenance, little repair costs, that'll last me a
couple years. There are currently two cars that have peaked my interest.
One being a 2007 Chevrolet Impala LS worth 4,962 with almost 100,000
miles on it. The other being a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta SE worth 5,000
dollars with almost 90,000 miles on it. They both look good cosmetically but
I'm curious which one matches my criteria the best. Or maybe neither of
these suit my needs and I should search for a better car. Any advice?
Thanks in advance!

IMO after 5 years things start going wrong with any car , jetta parts may be more expensive , if you don't want any problems just buy new , I suggest a subaru or a honda

young kid, little cash.. stay away from imports. Just buy a junk car and enjoy the car for a couple of years and study more about car/ trucks, etc. Just put some time in and study what is good and not so. I have owned a good 2 or 3 junk cars to get to my import and better look rides. It was NOT over night. I wish you well, and sure keep in touch!!
