Don't feel bad or let anyone put you down due to your lack of knowledge of trucks. We aren't born with any knowledge. I'm a GUY and I don't have a clue either. If you are looking to replace the tranny, have your mechanic figure it out. The mechanic is paid for his knowledge, not yours. Hope this helps.

I highly recommend having Ford replace your transmission with one of their factory rebuilds. They cost a little bit more but you get a factory unlimited mile 3 year warranty. I had my F150 transmission replaced last summer and I am really, really happy with it unlike other rebuilds I have had in the past.
