Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Bought the part from O'Reilly it isn't OEM. It doesn't
actually fit perfectly it's a little too thick by like a
third of an inch is that bad for the brake system?

If O'Reilly's gave you the correct pads, the new pads will be thicker. You have to compress the caliper piston back int the housing. Is this your first time changing brakes? Use a small thin block of wood on the rubber piston seal and a large C clamp to compress the piston back into the caliper so you can install the pads so they will fit over the rotor. Check Youtube for a few videos.
