Brake light problem

2000 Chevrolet 2500 cargo van , the brake
light won't light up when u hit the brake ,
wat might be the problem

I would look at the brake light switch mounted on the brake pedal arm. This switch is on unless you are not touching the brakes. I would guess that it is stuck (pressed like you are not touching the brakes) and is not activating your lights.
