Will a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix supercharged
engine work with a 1989 Buick Reatta transmission
if I try to do an engine swap

The transmissions are physically the same. But the 2006 3.8 used an electronically controlled transmission. You will need to use the transmission from the 2006 for this swap to work. Also check for hood clearance with the supercharger.
