2006 dodge 1500 starting issues

Asked by Bobby Jul 17, 2017 at 07:52 PM

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just changed the starter and truck had no problem
cranking for two days. Even this morning I stopped
and it worked 3 different times. I start to leave today
and the starter only turns a half a click. Any
solutions?

make sure batt. terminals are clean and tight , same with any elec. connections , the starter grounds to the motor block where it's bolted on , don't buy cheap , some rebuilt parts are junk out of the box especially a starter that gets hot near exhaust may need to be heavy duty

Brand new battery. Brand new starter. All the grounds seem to be good to go. It won't even turn over enough to start the truck
