Is there a access panel to access the fuel
pump?

That always scares me when someone suggests that, the body's have crumple zones that have been engineered to crumple at a certain rate and when you cut into the body like its gotta change the rate of that area, I know that on some of the foreign cars that have an access plate there is usually a reinforcing ring inlayed into body at that spot so the crumple rate is not changed due to the access plate. Just my two cents worth.
