Will a 97 ram van 360 v8 engine fit in my 00 ram 1500?

I have a 00 Dodge Ram 1500 and I'm wondering if
an engine from a 97 ram van 350 will fit in my truck,
the 8th digits in the vin are different but I'm still not
sure if they are compatible.

matching the old to new plus emissions for state inspections (if you have such a thing) would be troublesome , I would buy a crate motor that fits
