Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When a gear is selected which doesn't always
happen car won't drive. Have read where oil can
precipitate. Toyota checked codes and
recommended replacing HPU at an exorbitant
cost. The car was driving ok before being parked
up for  3 years. If oil in HPU was replaced would
this rectify the problem.  Please help.
