Suzuki XL7 2003 Front Diff leak

Asked by Guru6M44 May 13, 2017 at 07:23 PM

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My '03 XL7 has a bad leak from Front Diff.
at the Right Side axle oil seal. This started
when my friend & I replaced the CV Axles.
When we removed the right side the tin
piece that was on the axle to protect the
seal got damaged & we didn't reinstall it
hoping for the best. Now the seal is leaking
& The seal protector piece is virtually
impossible to find. So should I keep
looking for that piece or replace the seal or
try a seal for a Chevy Tracker instead
which I own 1 of & looked & noticed it
doesn't have a seal protector piece on it
but everything else looks right

Replace it with a new one there not that expensive. And why mess with used parts when there's a lot of labor to do the job right. Good luck
