SURE... I THOUGHT A 4.0 CAME IN THEM ALSO.... BUT CHANGING A FEW THINGS ARE EASY..

The 4.0 push rod engine was a Cologne engine were as the 4.2 is an Essex engine so the 4.2 is not a bigger version of the 4.0. I do not beveive the F150 ever came with the 4.0.

The 4.0 push rod is a good engine......................in a small vehicle like a Ranger. I had one and it was great but put it in my F150? NO WAY!
