Well, I pulled out of the driveway this morning and it dropped a dime's size spot on the driveway. Then parked it for about an hour and it leaked about a quarter's worth. The valve cover gaskets were replaced last week.

lord00 I am not sure of anything. :) The mechanic did tell me that I could expect residual leaking for a short period.

if it drop from down then you should check the oil bolt is well tight and also check if there is packing on the bolt.and if it drop from the fitter mouth then the fitter is not the exact one.

"could expect residual leaking for a short period. " may be the case. Keep an eye on it for a month, checking the oil level to see if it goes down, it takes awhile for the excess to drip off an engine.

Rowefast, thank you! He suggested just what you did here. They didn't CHANGE the oil, but what's dripping is fresh looking. This mechanic is smack dab in the middle of a very small town and I tend to believe he needs credibility and reputation over quick cash. Let's hope.
