Overheating of my PT Cruiser

Not an answer but a question.. my 2008 PT Cruiser overheated the other day.. Pulled over no steam no extreme temperature after putting finger in the radiator .. not needing water .. took to the mechanic today and after telling him my story became up with head gasket???
