I'm swapping motors in my 98 f150, I'm taking out a 4.2and putting in a straight 6 out of a 93, will it work?

What about the trans from the 93? The trans in it now needs the 98 PCM but the 93 motor does not it needs its own ECU, so you either need both the trans & motor and its ECU or stand alone ECU's for both the 93 motor & 98 trans. And the truck has other sensors too, for brakes ABS if equiped. You will need everything new or custom motor & trans mounts, its engine,trans,wiring,computer, driveshaft. 5.4L TRITON is a stock replacement.
