Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This morning I went to turn on my q5 and heard a
loud bang, like something had hit it. It didn't turn on
so I got out and heard leaking from the drivers side.
It looks like oil a was at least a cups worth. Now my
car is dead. I can't even lock or unlock the doors. I
looked at the oil level and it is at a good level. What
the heck could have happened?

Did you throw a rod through the side of the block?

Got it into the shop. The battery did explode and it was acid, not oil, leaking out. I have never heard of this happening!

I have, it can be very destructive, can actually do body damage. Have the area cleaned with backing soda/water mixture to neutralize the acid otherwise it will rust out the engine bay over time.
