Have a 2000 Chevy Cavalier that just began shutting off going up hills or when it calls for stepping on the gas. It throws no codes when scanned & no lights come on dash when it shuts off. Evantually starts and can be driven but keeps shutting off when giving it lots of gas.

Sounds like the catalytic converter is plugged up. Just stop in a shop to have it checked out. Or get the engine hot, make it hold back like it does, pull over in a dark area and look at the cat. It would be glowing orange if it is plugged up.
