08 Durango 4x4

I bought an 08 Durango that was displayed as a4x4
but there is no switch for 4x4. Is there such thing
as automatic 4x4?

Have a look at the front suspension- do you have a transfer case? if not then you have RWD. If you have a transfer case (NV40) you should also have a control switch 2x4/4x4 high and 4x4 Low

Appears to be a transfer case the manual indicates an N140 transfer case that does not require any switches
