Purchased 2006 hyundai elentra with 145500
miles, it get's 18 miles per gallon combined with
city and hiway but should get much more. What is
stopping me from getting the best  mpg, eric

Clogged catalytic converter is the normal cause of low mileage

everything under the hood is worn out- who knows? that car has been around the circumference of the Earth 5 times- amazing it still runs-
