Convert manual transmission to automatic in 2001 ram 1500

I have a ram1500 with the 3.9l v6 and standard
transmission.  Can this be changed out to an automatic?  
If so how complex is this and what transmission would be
needed?

Not worth the time and effort. Electronics issues, shifter, driveshaft, transmission cooler and issues as mentioned above will make it a big pain in the butt. Can it be done? Yes, but not without lots of time, money and difficulty.
