Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can somebody please help me out I have a 1996
Chevy Cheyenne with it 305 four-wheel drive the
other day I was driving it and it was running
perfect and then it started acting up sputtering real
bad that next day I went out to try to start it it did
not start up I thought it was out of gas so I put a
half a tank and there went out later that day to try
to start it and that's all it did was turn over and no
start later on and the week I went out there to start
it and it started out fine and ran like it was
supposed to but I went out later that day and it
started sputtering so basically what I'm saying is
some days you go out there it will startup perfect
and some days you go out there it will sputter but
when it sputters is Splitters into it gets hot and
then it cuts off and don't starts back up the truck is
