I always do the first change on a new vehicles between 2,000 and 3,000 miles. If it were mine I would get it changed using the proper oil specified in the owner's manual. Then I would change it every 7,500 miles or 1 year whichever comes first regardless of what the maintenance minder says. 10,000 miles is too many in my opinion.
