How to insert transmission shaft back in place

I asked a question about this earlier. I tried what I was told to do but even
though the converter seems to be in place it still sticks out past the bell
housing. I have turned it and pushed and tried pulling on it & pushing again but
nothing seems to help. I need to know if there is some way to reset the stem
where the converter goes on in case it moved. I tried pushing on it and turning
but it won't go in. I have enclosed a photo showing where the converter is past
the housing. Thank you for your help. P S I was told to remove the bell housing
to re set the stem but the transmission housing & body are one piece.

I had answered. That torque converter should just slip back in like I explained. You think the front shaft is out? Does it move much in and out?

I see no photo, if you could get one of the input shaft.

What kind of vehicle are u working on and did the converter come out of the same transmission, otherwise it may not be the correct one for the transmission. The way u mentioned ur doing is the correct way.

Ya, automatic, bell housing does not come off. If that shaft is out, you would have to remove the front pump, that bigger circle piece to see what is going on.
