Odd you would be wanting to make a 4 wheel drive into a 2 wheel drive. A lot of stuff would have to be made including some fancy electronic modifications, one big headache there, then there is the mods to the firewall for the pedal tree and clutch hydraulics. Different driveline as the stick shift one would need to be longer as you would be doing away with the transfer case and front driveline, you could just leave the front differential in there, it's extra weight but taking it out would involve more suspension and steering work. Quite a job indeed.

What I meant was I want to make the 4*4 a stick shift is the 1998 ram stick shift fit in the 1999 4x4 automatic

Oh okay well no it won't work it has to be a 4X4 tranny to match up with the transfer case, but you will still be in for some mods like the pedal tree and hydraulics for the clutch, and double those driveline a I think the standards rear drive line will still be longer, and then you will need to reprogram the ECM for a stick shift.

I would be an expensive nightmare due to all the conversion issues and electronics.
