4x4 on a Mazda b2600

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 93 Mazda b2600, and the 4x4 isn't
working. I think the problem is with the axle
in the front, because it engages in the left
side but it won't on the drivers side? Any
suggestions will help thanks

The front drive is not a limited slip, so how do you know for sure it is not engaged? Have you lifted it off the ground on all 4 wheels and put it ni 4 WD LOW and see if the tires spin one side then the other when you place a drag on them one at a time? Note if you have limited slip in the rear both tires will spin at the same speed and direction. The front will either only spin one tire and the other might go backwards or not spin at all until you apply pressure on the spinning wheel, if the rear does not have limited slip it will act like the front and only spin one tire just like the front. Allot of times the snap ring will come off, check to see if this is the issue.
