Starting my 1994 Gmc Sierra

I have a 1994 Gmc Sierra 1500 2wd truck
just replaced the starter and put in a new
battery also had to adjust the timing but
when I go to crank it sometimes it will like
drag or lop like the timing is off but I'm pretty
sure that the timing is correct set it at 0
deree's like the manufacturer suggest
anyone got any ideas

Timing pointers sometimes are not all that accurate. Try setting it at 2° up to 4°. The computer will take over and put the timing where it needs to be. You do unplug the brown wire that advances the the timing when setting it, correct?
