I doubt they will buy the car back. Is that 4k only for a new Volvo or is it cash so that you can buy what you want? If you fix it you can sell it with a new engine and maybe get a good price. If the money is in lieu of fixing the engine I might opt to get the engine fixed as it will cost them a lot more than 4k to fix it, probably nearly double that.

I have an issue with my 1999 Volvo S70 GLT. It has over 250,000 miles. The problem seems to be with accelerating. After driving about a mile or so, it starts to slip acting as if it's in neutral. The engine continues to stay on though. After waiting a few minutes, I'm able to drive it a little more before the problem occurs again. I've taken it to several places to get it checked, and they all say the same thing, which is to get the entire transmission replace, which would cost about $2400. I'm pretty limited financially, so I'm really hoping this is not the only solution. I had the car diagnosed a few times already, and these codes keep coming up: P0756, P1618. I know that these are just generic codes, but was still wondering if I could get some help. Do I really need to replace the whole transmission, or is there a cheaper solution? 6 Answers

My 2008 Ford Escape AWD floor matts keep getting soaked. I thought I had fixed it by making sure the sunroof was closed properly, but it has continued. I have tried to figure out where this is coming from and finally after drying them out again I laid under the the vehicle and both on the drivers side in the middle of the front floor area and the passanger side there is a small hole about the size of a dine right in the middle. That would account for the water coming in after rain storms and such, but why would these two holes be there? Was there a drain area there with plugs and they are missing? I have a 2013 Ford focus SE HATCHBACK that has the recalls on the transmission, I took it to the local dealer as we have begun experiencing the shudder and loss of power and the dealer just called stating it is the actuators which of course are not under the recall and said it is going to cost $2,500 and that it may not fix the problems and may have to be brought back of the shudder isn't fixed.
