Question type: Maintenance & Repair

someone took the ignition  completely out of this
car. we went to a junkyard and purchase a used
steering column and put it in the 2000 Jetta
Volkswagen. the column came from a 99
Volkswagen Beetle Bug. do we need to reset the
car's computer system or anything that will let this
car start again it turns over but does not start. The
beetle bugs Volkswagen that we got the column
from had the same anti lock an anti theft system in
it is there anything that needs to be reset? Orwill
this steering column not work in a 2000
Volkswagen Jetta

Do you know where to find the steps of doing this online? All I've found is the reprogramming of the key itself and so idk what to search for how do we program the ignition? Thank you so much for your answer
