Camry or Accord

After years of leasing I am getting ready to purchase
a new car.  I drive about 15-18k a year and hope to
have the car for 10 years or more. I plan to maintain
it well so that it can last.  I prefer the styling of the
current Accord over the current Camry.  My
mechanic says both are good durable cars (duh lol)
but that he prefers the Camry long term. Says the
Accord transmissions are not quite as reliable as
the Camry's.  
Would love to get thoughts from the Car Gurus over
here.
