A trade will help defer sales tax because trade in amount will be deducted before tax is calculated. But in some cases a trade can be a disadvantage if you owe more than it is worth.

A trade is a disadvantage cause you usually get pretty well screwed over on a trade. I would rather buy a used vehicle with no trade.
