2006 PT Cruiser

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I step down on gas on 2006 or
cruiser engine light comes on and car
stalls, have to slow down and let it catch
back up???  Then acts like it tries to skip,
once caught back you have to press gas
easy, but gets hot, engine light stays on.
Light will go off overnite & drives fine
unless you step down on it -- like passing
a car or entering interstate

Try getting your OBD trouble codes scanned at any auto parts store (most do this as a free service). Then we'll have more info to go on. You may need nothing more than a tune up, but without knowing any codes it's just guesswork.
