Will a 1997 4x4 Ford f150 transmission interchange with a 2002 4x4 ford f150

If you mean automatic pretty sure the 4R70W -4 speed will fit both '97 and '02. It was used from '93 to '03. For manual, the M5OD-R2 - 5 speed also should. It was used as late as 2011. Manufactured by Mazda (not saying that's a bad thing)
