Starter solenoid 03 F150

Truck won't start. The lights
and everything and the idiot
lights come on when you go
to turn the ignition over it
goes dead battery is good I
jumped it and jumped the
solenoid one time and it
started and ran, jumped it
the second time it started
and ran . But smelt like wires
burning . When I tested the
solenoid the wires from
battery the big one is hot but
the smaller wire going to
alternator would  was
grounded.
AS IN WITH A TEST LIGHT
THE HOT AND THE TOP OF
THE SOLENOID THUG LET
THE TEST LIGHT THE
OTHER ONE DID NOT
THAT'S THE HARD
CONTINUITY SO I'M GOING
TO GROUND ON THE TOP
LUG HOW COULD THAT BE

I'd suspect that you have a bad ignition switch or defective wire to the solenoid; maybe the ground wire.
