Depending on overall condition, options, etc. NADA says it's worth between $875 and $3375. Average retail price is $2200. Depending on where you live getting a title for it may be a big hassle. Check with your State's State's Division of Motor Vehicles and see what you need to do to get a clear title. The first thing I'd suggest is either buy a Carfax report or run the VIN through NCIB and see if it was ever reported stolen! 1981 is the first year you can do a Carfax but entries before 1994 will be spotty. I'd go the NCIB route first. If it was reported stolen at some point, contact your local police department and wash your hands of it! Hope that helps!

Like JS said, having a title is key. It's worth whatever you can get for the vehicle in parts since you don't have a title.

Sounds like a $200 car to me. It is not your car, it is the owners heirs if there are any. You would have to contact your states DMV office to see what the procedure for getting the title is. Personally I would have it hauled off for junk.

If you bought the property with the car on it your real estate agent should have dealt with this problem as part of the sale. You probably can't legally part it out or scrap it or do anything else without getting the title. Call your agent and tell them about your problem.
