Question type: General

Hello, I have a 1999 Doge Ram Van B1500 that I just
brought with me driving it is about to be at 150,000 miles. I
have been riding on paper tags because of this coronavirus
and the dmv inspection stations and Regular DMV service
locations closed as well. I hear at slight what might be a
valve tap but, since I don't know what the other owner has
done far as fuel used, oil changes. I haven't done anything
to it yet but, I have been running shell 93 in it a every fuel up
and it drives well. I'm no mechanic but, seems to be no
transmission slippage, oil leaks, other fluid leaks. I don't
know why but, this has always been my dream van!!  I
do see I am probably going to have to replace the headlight
switch but, can hold on as long as I can because it still
works and makes the lights come on but, I can see that
there is a short in it and have to fumble around with it at
times.Plus I know that it doesn't have all the fancy emission
regulations that this newer cars has so I just wanted to
know with having to take it through inspection before I can
get it fully registered have anyone ranned into problems
with passing emissions or should I be concerned because
my van gives off a real exhaust smell(lol) then these newer
cars??
