Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 09 cobalt lt, auto tranny,
135k in superior condition with
the exception of the following:
speedometer not working, radiator
fan, cruise control dont work, cel
on, power steering fault shown on
dash, throws an obd2 code saying
loss of communication with
transmission. Recently the vss,
battery and rear abs wheel sensor
and bearing were all replaced. Re-
grounded the tcm, what am i
missing? Also when code reader
is attached, at an idle it says the
car is at 159 kil?? Any ideas?

First, when the CEL is on, the cruise control will not operate. Speedometer is likely due to a defective speed sensor (even though you replaced the VSS) or some defect in the wiring. Power steering fault could be due to a low fluid level. Cooling fan defect could be caused by some problem in the system or a defective engine coolant temperature sensor. Transmission communication problem could be caused by several things. That's a lot of trouble and you should have all of these diagnosed by a mechanic. You could have him fix the problems or use his evaluation to guide you in fixing the car yourself.
