You can meet at your local police station. Most police departments have meeting areas for Ebay, craigslist, etc. meetings. There's cameras and, obviously, police officers there. Ask to see the person's driver's license. Make sure it's valid and matches your potential buyer. Go with the potential buyer. If you feel more comfortable with a friend or family member, bring them along too! Most likely your potential buyer won't come alone either. After all, they don't know you. Spend several minutes talking with your buyer. Get a feel for them. Don't just hop in the vehicle and go, the second they get there. If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't and you should make an excuse to leave. Especially if you have to be alone. If you do have to be alone be sure to tell someone beforehand that you're having the test drive meeting, what time, and where. You can even have the person call you about 30 minutes or so after the meeting time. If you want. I've sold a few vehicles on craigslist and always take precautions. You should too. Remember, you don't know them and they don't know you! Good luck with your sale! Hope that helps! Jim
