Would do better with a 4.3 swap or rebuilding

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1994 s10 ls 2.2 with a 5 speed. I have two
motors on hand. Original one spun rod bearings
and the current installed as bad rod knock. Would i
be safe to take both and make one good given all
accounted for issues like damage etc. Or wouod i
be better off 4.3 swapping. It will be daily driven

I would prefer the 4.3, but that's a total swap over, versus just replacing an engine with the same. Neither of the 2.2s would be cheap rebuilds since both seem like they'll need bottom end machine work. I'd look for a 4.3 donor truck to grab all the parts I needed, exhaust, wire harnesses, mounts, computer, etc.
