Ford taurus code p0300

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So a little back story, I was trying to help one of my friends
jump start their car and it wasn't working so they tried it
again like three more additional times or whatever. My Ford
taurus SOL 2005 was turned on and idling for awhile like
10-15 mins and they revved the engine a couple of times...
The dead car never started in the end and I noticed after we
took off the cables that the engine light was on, so I took it
to get read and it said P0300.. Could this code be not
accurate since they were trying to jump start a dead car?
Thanks

P0300 is a generic misfire code. I wasn't there to see how your friend connected and disconnect the battery to know if they did it correctly.

@TDolby if the did it incorrectly could that be the caused of the code and why I now have an error in my car?
