2015 Chevy Silverado won't go over 30 mph

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2015 Chevy Silverado would only go 30 mph, then
drop to 10 mph, then wouldn't go. Had it towed
home thinking transmission. But sometimes it
goes 10 mph. The other day it went 30 mph, but no
faster. A couple days ago it ran just fine. Would
that be the transmission? Or is there another
cause?

Is the engine revving high but you are going slow or does the engine bog down and barely move?

Sounds like a slipping transmission. Check the fluid level but the transmission is probably shot.

So even though it ran fine a couple days ago the transmission could be bad? Sorry, I don't know much about cars. I didn't know that once a car didn't move forward or backward that it could start going again. But thank you.

Have a mechanic or transmission shop diagnose your problem. Transmissions today are all computer controlled.

That's the thing, it's not throwing any codes, there is no engine light on. But thank you.
