Car door won’t close

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2012 Ford Fusion. Come outside and my
damn back door is open. Will not close and
latch at all. Just out of the blue trying to get
home. I don’t know but ford needs to get their
crap together. The only recall I have is my air
bags and they claim the parts aren’t in yet
still. Now I need to see if there is a recall on
the doors. This is very inconvenient! How do I
get my door fix? I don’t want to take it to a
ford dealer at all.

The latch is probably stuck closed due to water freezing in the latch. try heating it with a hairdryer so it will work. After you get the door to close, spray some WD40 in and on the door latch when you do get it to work, so you will avoid the issue in the future.
