Have a unused alternator for a 2005 Ford Explorer (6cyl).
Want to know if it is compatible with a 2003 Ford Escape
(6cyl). They look the same in design

Check the pulley size , it can be swapped if it's different , check any #'s on the unit or shop on line for both and see if the same part comes up .

No, the 2003 Escape only can use an alternator from another Escape or Mazda tribute from 2001 to 2004, or a Mercury Cougar, 2001 to 2002 with a V6. 110 amps.
