how does payment work when car is shipped to another state

Check the Help link for more details on the selling process, but I would not get involved with someone asking you to ship a vehicle. The cost is on the buyer and to find an auto shipper to pick it up after you get a proper payment. Sounds like a scam to me.

Don't ship it until it is paid in full and you have verified funds with your banker.
