What can I do if Car Gurus recommends a dealer and I get a lemon?

Asked by Mjuly4th Dec 23, 2019 at 10:02 AM

Question type: General

I bought a car on Car Gurus.  The dealer told me the car had recently had a
transmission replacement so I bought the car.  I have had it less than 30 days
and it's been in the shop 4 times.  I need a transmission replacement and the
Rack and Pinion leak fixed.  5K total.  I only paid 4K for the car.

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do. CarGurus is just an auto advertising site. They cannot be held responsible for the condition of a vehicle. It is the sellers responsibility to accurately describe the car and your responsibility to check it out before buying (a.k.a. 'buyer beware'). You should contact the dealer and complain to them.
