Question type: General

I come here asking questions hoping to find someone smarter than me. I rarely get good responses to my questions. Is there a better place to get my questions answered?

Jeff, this is a public area for car related maintenance answers that anyone can visit to ask and or answer questions. Just like any other online forum. If you want a site specific question answered from actual employees of Cargurus, you need to use the Contact Us link.

The more information and detail put in your answer the better that someone can help you. Not everyone is an expert in every aspect of car repair and or model specific. People answering questions here are on their own time trying to help others and use as entertainment. HTH's

Depending on your question, you might have to frequent model specific vehicle forums, do some more research or searching. Your local mechanic might also be able to help.

The quality of the question and information determines how good of an answer you get. Most questions here are incoherent and illiterate. If you have a question, post it.

I have posted very detailed questions, right down to my diagnostic procedures. I am a mechanic with 40 years experience and get answers like maybe you hooked up the wrong wire. I work on very difficult problems that no one else in my area will tackle but sometime I get in real deep and need an ideal of my next step. Most time no one will even answer because they have no clue.
