2000 ford ranger

We had a 4.o in truck and ended up with a 3.0 replacement motor but nothing is hooking up right how can u
convert it over it has extra plugs that are not on our wiring harnesse

You will need the engine electronic harness and the computer to make it work. However if you have an automatic transmission then the computer that matches the harness won’t operate the transmission correctly and you need to find a stand alone transmission controller. You should have stuck with the 4.0
